Our Centre

The Waverley is a new centre for people living with learning disabilities in Weymouth. The project is managed by East Boro, a non-profit housing association in Dorset. The Waverley is a community hub for vulnerable people featuring arts, craft, fitness, wellbeing, cooking, cafe club, personal development and social activities. 

What we would like

Residents using the Waverley were asked what facilities they would like in their new centre. One of the most popular requests was to hold regular Disco and Karaoke nights for singing and dancing fun. Our residents also asked for frequent movie nights where they could watch their favourite films with friends. These entertainment events would be one of the highlights of their week and we want to make them extra enjoyable by having a professional entertainment system. We are working hard to get the facilities ready as our residents would like a Christmas party this year at their new venue.

How you can help us

The equipment required to establish a full entertainment system at The Waverley is not a huge amount but it is outside of our resident’s budget. We want to raise the money to buy all the necessary gear to enable them to celebrate their centre for years to come. Our funding target would cover full PA speakers, DJ equipment, lighting, smoke machine, extensive karaoke package (to cover all tastes!), projector and screen for movie nights.
