Big-Hearted Residents in the Pink
TENANTS at a Bournemouth sheltered housing scheme were left tickled pink after doing their bit for charity.
Edward May Court residents raised more than £1,000 during a week of activities in aid of breast cancer research.
Events included a wear pink day, cake sales, raffles, loom band making and a coffee morning.
But the highlight came when tenants managed to get senior staff from care and support service providers, East Boro, to take the ice bucket challenge.
Amongst those who got a soaking was sheltered housing officer Wendy Mullen and housing manager Peter Sparks.
Mr Sparks said: “It was a fabulous week and everyone at Edward May should be really proud of their efforts.
“A lot of money was raised for a very worthy cause although I’m still shivering now!”
East Boro specialises in providing housing, care and support for adults with learning disabilities across Dorset.
