East Boro Welcomes Gill On Board
EAST Boro has appointed a new member to its board.
Gill Slade joins the organisation following a distinguished career in working primarily for Dorset Social Services.
A former head of commissioning for both adults and childrens’ social care, she brings a wealth of experience to the role.
She said: “I am delighted to join the board of East Boro and very much hope to make a positive contribution to its future success.
“The organisation is forward thinking and progressive, and yet it cares passionately about its customers, which is really important.
“I look forward to the role and to meeting staff and customers over the coming months.â€
In June 2012 Dorchester-based Mrs Slade came out of retirement to act as Interim Service Unit Head, Commissioning and Improvement (People Services) at the Borough of Poole, a post she held for 12 months.
She remains extremely busy in retirement and her voluntary roles include being a member of Stratton Parish Council and Chair of the Dorchester Friends of Julia’s House.
East Boro specialises in housing and support services for the sheltered elderly, adults with learning disabilities and other vulnerable client groups in social housing needs across Dorset.
And Chief Executive, Kevin Hodder, said Mrs Slade’s skills will prove ‘invaluable’ in the industry.
He added: “We are so pleased to welcome Gill Slade to the East Boro Board.
“Her outstanding experience working for Social Services will prove an invaluable asset to the organisation.
“We are very lucky to have people of Gill’s calibre on our Board and we wish her a long and happy association with East Boro.â€
