Honour for East Boro Chief
KEVIN Hodder has received one of the highest honours that can be bestowed on a citizen.
East Boro’s Chief Executive has been conferred the title of Honorary Alderman by Weymouth and Portland Borough Council.
The richly deserved award is in recognition of Kevin’s outstanding work and long service as a councillor.
Weymouth-born Kevin, who stood down from public office in May, said he was ‘surprised and humbled’ by the award.
He added: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a borough councillor and would like to thank all my fellow councillors, council officers and the people of Weymouth and Portland for all their help and support over the years.
“Being named an Honorary Alderman was a huge surprise and I am very proud and humbled to receive such a prestigious title.”
Honorary Alderman Hodder received his certificate from Mayor, Councillor Kate Wheller, a presentation evening held in Weymouth.
Councillor Wheller said: “Kevin has given outstanding service to the Borough and this award recognises his hard work, dedication and service to Weymouth and Portland.”
