Karen Allan CIHCM
Karen joined East Boro as Director of Housing Services in December 2016. Karen is fully qualified in housing as is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. She studied for her professional qualifications at the Centre for Housing and Support in Worcester and graduated from Plymouth University in 2015 with a FdA Housing with Support. Before joining East Boro Karen worked for another Housing Association leading on sheltered and supported housing, tenancy sustainment, adult safeguarding and child protection, empty property management and lettings and allocations.
Karen has extensive social housing experience as she has worked in the industry for over 25 years. She has worked at senior management level for the last 10 years and has led on various service areas including repairs and maintenance, resident involvement and community development, customer care and contact centre management as well as facilities management and customer insight. She has a strong focus in providing an excellent customer service and has considerable experience of improving customer facing services and in managing change.
As Director of Housing Services, Karen is responsible for the delivery of first class supported and sheltered housing services that sustains tenancies, communities and the local economy.
Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her family and her English Springer Spaniel, Brodie. She also enjoys walking, gardening, going to the beach, the cinema and shopping.
